Winter Lake

This little quilt was inspired by a visit to Glacier National Park.  What a lovely place.

Techniques: Paint on cotton fabric, applique trees, thread painted and then heavily quilted.

All wall quilts have a sleeve on the top back for ease in hanging with a dowel or rod.

We often travel toward Oregon and pass this beautiful river along the road.

Techniques: Mosaic Picture Piecing using a picture as a photomap. Heavily quilted.

A small redwood scene

Techniques: A collage of commercial prints.  The foreground is mosaic picture piecedthen fussy cut ferns and trees cover a printed background.  It is heavily quilted with Superior threads. The edge is bound with a commercial print.

All wall quilts have a fabric sleeve at the top back for ease of hanging with a dowel or rod.

Redwood Shade

I know I probably do too many redwood scenes…I can’t help myself. This is a small one, but I think it’s lovely.

Techniques: Mosaic pieced with many different prints; some thread embroidery for boughs and a touch of poison oak. Machine quilted.
All wall quilts have a sleeve sewn to the back top for ease of hanging…a dowel or curtain rod is inserted through the sleeve.

The Gift

I used my Granddaughter and her new baby as models for this quilt.

Celebrate (Tree)

 

This was an idea I decided to try.  It consists of 5 panels that are held together with some glitzy tulle and organza.

Each tree section is a combination of a collection of printed Christmas fabrics and the blue background is woven 1″ strips.

Names and phrases about Jesus are written here and there in the blue background.

Techniques: Collage, weaving, cotton batting. Heavily quilted.

Woodland Whispers

This was created in the Mosaic style and then a few whimsical animals were added, just for fun.

Techniques: Mosaic Picture Piecing. Heavily quilted.

Candles of Celebration

I designed this little quilt with a pattern in mind.  It turned out to be a favorite of mine.

Techniques: Piecing with a touch of applique for the flame. The flame has a bead highlight. Machine quilted.

Redwoods by the Sea Quilt

This scene was found on a walk near Trinidad,CA. I love that the redwoods grow right down to the beach’s edge in some places.

Techniques: Painted on a whole piece of cotton fabric; design enhanced by stitching, piping and binding finish the edge Machine quilted.
All wall quilts have a sleeve sewn to the back top for ease of hanging…a dowel or curtain rod is inserted through the sleeve.

Almost a Flower Garden

This is a favorite quilt that stays at my house.  It’s nice to have for a guest bed.

It was made from a published pattern and reminds one of the traditional hexigon Flower Garden quilt.
