Filling in details a little at a time--hair--her hand.  Just a little here and there as I work along.

  Then I start on Mom's face...looks like I dried it and added a little detail before I took the picture. Beginning to make a little more sense.

    The next step will just start on the shading, no details yet. the baby first (of course)...shading only. Note that the guidelines you see are not on the fabric, you're seeing them through the fabric on the map below. I use Deco Art Paints...

  Now we fill in the background-- It looks black in the photo, but actually there are very dark shades of blue and red added to the black. (Always a little reward for the really close observer) I added the blond portions to her hair, more...
