Celebrity Mini Quilt Auction-Houston

x8001922

Once again I've been invited to donate a piece for the IQA Houston show.  I decided to paint a scene I've used before.  Here are some steps along the way:

First I used a marker for a guide to where the tree branches would be and then painted the sky and ocean area.

notice how the ink shows through thepaint so those guidelines are not lost.

I continued to paint each little section until the whole scene was done.

After the scene is painted I stitch heavily adding lots of thread texture which really enhances the finished piece.

another fun thing was I used a left over painted section of fabric for the back.  It turned out to look pretty nice with the quilting on it.
