Midnight Blue 36″ wide x 41″ tall

This was a fun project that happened to get pushed aside while I finished a redwood quilt.
It’s complete now and I still love the color.

Redwood Arts Association in Eureka is having an exhibit called Beyond the Page until Dec 12.

“Garden Green” is my entry, a painted piece which is heavily quilted and the bottom is shaped to resemble a leaf, with a tiny piping accent. Award of Merit
Across F street at the Morris Graves Museum is another exhibit from Nov. 29 – Jan. 4. There you can see what I call “Cat Tails”. It has a woven sky, Mosaic pieced ground, and a painted tiger with heavy embroidery. It is also heavily quilted and has a shaped edge with tiny piping accenting the binding.

International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX
The judging is complete and my quilt has won 1st place in Naturescapes category.
I consider this a great honor.

These 3 quilts will be on display at the Redwood Regional Airport north of McKinleyville, Ca
They are “California Gold”, “Avenue of the Giants”, and “Agate Beach”.
I hope if you visit the airport you’ll enjoy the art that will be on display there.

Crescent View is on it’s way to Paducah for the show in late April.
In 2020 it was also juried into this show, but the show was cancelled – so here it goes again in 2022.
It’s nice to have the big quilt shows meeting again “in person”. So far I haven’t attended, but maybe soon.

well it’s done. It was fun to make, but I’m not sure the silk part is better than when I paint on cotton…maybe.
