This quilt was made for a display of quilts called "Towering" (it won 2nd place!!). I always enjoy making forest quilts...(you probably noticed that) choosing threads for quilting
This shows a closeup of the tulle holding little rocks...I stitch closely around the rocks and they are held in place by the tulle. This quilt is finished with a bound edge.  It has a sleeve on the top back edge for easy hanging with a dowel or curtain rod.

Awarded 2nd place

Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, CA, exhibited works from artists of different mediums.  The exhibit was called: "Towering" inspired by the redwoods.  Of course, that's right up my alley.  I entered "Richardson's Grove" and "Miniature Redwoods". I'm happy to report that "Richardson's Grove"...
