Pat Durbin is an award-winning quilt artist who uses unique textiles techniques to create quilts from photos. Pat has had her quilts featured in quilt museums, has won numerous quilt awards, and is author of five quilting books.

Since 2005, Pat Durbin has been making art quilts that resemble paintings.  She find this to be filled with challenges and rewards. Pat has sewn clothes since childhood but now spends most of her sewing time making quilted art.  Using photography as inspiration and various techniques, Pat makes quilted fine art scenes.  Her style is to quilt my art on her home sewing machine.  She has done portraits as well as many landscapes. Oh, my - haven't we had a challenging year!?  I hope you have been producing lots of new projects and enjoying the "at home" time with your family.

I've made 3 quilts during this Covid at home time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the 2 art quilts were commissioned pieces and the Irish chain was made from blue and white scraps.  I'm trying to keep busy.

Out with the Old

Free - Prairie Point Christmas Ornament Pattern

So easy - you can make a bunch in a couple of hours - I used all scraps.  Dig around and see if you have some that will work. I save my Christmas fabric scraps in a large bag, ready to scrounge for little projects....

Awarded 2nd place

Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, CA, exhibited works from artists of different mediums.  The exhibit was called: "Towering" inspired by the redwoods.  Of course, that's right up my alley.  I entered "Richardson's Grove" and "Miniature Redwoods". I'm happy to report that "Richardson's Grove"...
